Onset: Aftermath

PAGE ONE
Panel 1
Medium shot as VARUN SRINIVASI stands apart from HANNAH and JASON WILLIAMS, his arms crossed as he looks uncertainly on at the destruction in the arena due to Jason’s recent escape.
Varun is tall, with clean features, olive skin and longish dark hair that is neatly kept. His smooth, youthful facial features mark him as being Middle Easter in ethnicity, though he is rather pretty in how well-kept he presents himself. He is a demon hunter, and dressed in a manner that suggests a rogue-magician hybrid: flowing, loose-fitting robe-like garments with accents of leather and pouches. He has runes tattooed on his face and the back of his hands.
All three characters can be seen, but Varun is the most prominent in this panel.
1 VARUN
 So...
2 VARUN That went well...
Panel 2
A different perspective on the same shot, with Hannah as the most prominent character in the panel. Hannah is short and thin, with a slightly tan complexion, dark brown hair and eyes, and facial features that make it difficult to figure out her ethnicity. She’s dressed in an ensemble of jeans, a t-shirt, and a loose-fitting jacket.
She’s watching her brother from a slight distance as he faces off to another side, mildly stretching and looking over his new features. She looks content, but not altogether pleased. She’s also not completely used to Jason’s new look.
Varun is off to the side, surveying the recent damage, in basically the same position as the previous panel.
3 HANNAH
 Well enough, I suppose.

4 VARUN
 You
suppose?
5 HANNAH
 All things considered. Yes.

Panel 3
Close-up on Varun, who has turned to start speaking aggressively to Hannah.
6 VARUN
You do realize that I may well be expelled from the brotherhood for what we did here? Killed, even?

7 HANNAH (O.P)
So? What do you want, a gold star?

8 VARUN
Just a little gratitude. Some acknowledgment of what I did.

Panel 4
Close-up on Hannah, who has turned to face Varun and meet his gaze with the same level of disdain and vitriol.
9 HANNAH
 Oh, you want gratitude? Acknowledgment?

10 HANNAH Thank you, Varun, for finally agreeing under duress to help me rescue Jason from the death trap you originally sent him to.

11 HANNAH
 You’re
such a swell guy. We can only hope to be as noble as--
12 JASON (O.P.)
 Hannah.

Panel 5
Close-up on Jason, who is still looking outward from them towards the seating area of the arena.
Jason is Hannah’s older brother, and shares many of her physical traits. He’s about thirty, and has a youthful look to him. He has a thin-medium build, though his muscle tone is very wiry and hard-looking, and his skin is a purplish-magenta that is unevenly scattered all over him. The whites of his eyes have gone yellow, and small spines have grown out down the side of his neck and shoulders.
13 JASON
Leave him alone. He was just doing what he knew to do.

Panel 6
Hannah has moved towards Jason, and is pointing a finger at him. Jason is grinning at her.
14 HANNAH
 Well, it nearly got you
killed!
15 JASON
I know. But here I am, all smiles and giggles, just like before.

PAGE TWO

Panel 1
Medium close-up. Jason is standing between Hannah and Varun, his arms spread as he talks to them with his hands.
1 JASON
I may have almost been super-exorcised by the legion of mad monks here because of demon-hunter boy...

2 VARUN
 Man.

3 JASON
 Hmmm... super-exorcised? Super-cised? Heh. Anyway...

4 JASON
But you both busted in here and rescued me.

Panel 2
Close-up on Jason, a solemn smile on his face.
5 JASON
So, thank you. Both of you.

6 VARUN (O.P.)
 You’re very welcome, Jason Williams.

Panel 3
They both look expectantly at Hannah, who looks suddenly surprised.
Panel 4
Close-up on Hannah, with the same basic look on her face from the previous panel.
7 HANNAH
 … What?

Panel 5
Close-up on Hannah, a stricken look of realization as she figures out what is expected of her.
8 HANNAH
 Oh.

Panel 6
Medium close-up of the three of them, Hannah in the middle. She’s put her hands in her jacket pocket and has a sour, resigned expression as she mumbles to them.
9 HANNAH
 Fine.

10 HANNAH
 Thanks for your help.

PAGE THREE
Panel 1
Close-up of Varun and Hannah as he nods graciously to her. She looks none-to-thrilled by the gesture.
1 VARUN
You’re very welcome as well, Hannah Williams.

Panel 2
Varun now turns to Jason, all business. Hannah looks interested in what he’s asking as well.
2 VARUN
What about you, Jason? How do you feel?

3 VARUN
You seem remarkably... centered... for having undergone such an ordeal. Especially as it went awry so spectacularly.

Panel 3
Close-up on Jason, explaining to them casually.
4 JASON
 I actually
feel kind of... centered. I mean, I feel like me. Jason Williams. That wasn’t always the case when the creature came out to play.

5 HANNAH
 You
sound like you. Well, the words, at least.
Panel 4
Close-up on Hannah, who’s looking down at the ground with a smirk on her face, like she knows a secret or has the goods on her brother.
6 HANNAH
The Lou Ferrigno growling voice is new.

7 JASON
 I
knew making you watch The Hulk on DVD would come back to bite me.

Panel 5
Varun is looking appraisingly at Jason, trying to assess if he’s as well off as he seems.
8 VARUN
 You
do look very well, purple skin and scales aside.
9 VARUN
It seems as if you’ve retained most of your personality traits while presumably taking on
some of the physical traits of your unwelcome visitor.

9 JASON
 You could be right.

10 JASON
When you busted in, we were at a point in the ritual where I started to feel him slipping away.

Panel 6
Close-up on Hannah, who looks surprised at this news.
11 HANNAH
Wait, are you saying it was
working? That you could have actually been exorcised successfully?

12 VARUN (O.P)
 I
told you it was risky to interrupt...
13 HANNAH
 Shut up.

14 HANNAH
Did we just massively screw up by rescuing you when we did?

PAGE FOUR
Panel 1
Close-up on Jason. He’s shrugging, unable to provide an answer.
1 JASON
 Iunno.

Panel 2
Medium close-up on all of them. Varun is gesturing as he explains what he knows.
2 VARUN
 The truth is, there’s
no way to know what would have happened to your brother, had the ritual been completed. Just because he felt fine at that point in the ritual doesn’t mean he wouldn’t have been torn apart near the end by the forces the monks were conjuring to combat the demon.

3 HANNAH
But... what if he’s trapped like this?

Panel 3
Close-up on Hannah, who looks suddenly wide-eyed and stricken.
4 HANNAH
 What if
I’m responsible for it?
Panel 4
Jason puts an arm around Hannah’s shoulder, in a big brotherly, demon kind of way. He looks dead serious as he talks to her.
5 JASON
 What is “it,” exactly?

6 JASON
I’m alive. I’ve got super-strength and probably some other demon, magic- based powers I don’t know about.

7 JASON
 Things could be worse.

8 HANNAH
 But there’s a lot we
don’t know.
Panel 5
Medium close-up on Varun, who holds up a hand as talks to them.
9 VARUN
She has a point, my friend.

10 VARUN
There’s no way to know if the demon was destroyed. He could come back for you.

11 VARUN
Your powers and physiology could cause problems for you down the road that we just don’t see right now.

12 VARUN
Your sister is right to question this.

Panel 6
Close-up on Jason, who nods reasonably, but who seems undaunted by these concerns.
13 JASON
Then we’ll meet the challenges as they come.

14 JASON
So be sure to leave us your cell number, Twitter handle and Facebook and Google + information.

15 VARUN (O.P.)
 Uh... sure. I can provide...
some... of those things...

PAGE FIVE
Panel 1
Splash page. Jason has Hannah under one arm as they walk away from the reader, towards the exit from the arena. Varun is keeping close to them.
1 JASON
In the meantime, we live life! And the first thing I want, strangely, is some McDonalds’
Super-Size Fries!

2 HANNAH
 Ugh...
why?
3 JASON
Mostly to punchline a joke I made a little while ago.

4 HANNAH
 Must’ve been a terrible joke.

5 JASON
 Horrific.

6 HANNAH There’s a surprise.
7 JASON
 Hello? You’ve known me
how long? All your life?
8 HANNAH
 Feels longer than that.

9 JASON
 Smartass.

10 HANNAH
Gotta be smart to be one...

11 JASON
 You keep saying...

12 VARUN
 McDonalds food
does sound good...
13 HANNAH
 Ugh. Oxymorons can’t
ever taste good!

Onset: Confession

PAGE ONE

Panel 1
HANNAH WILLIAMS is sitting on the couch in the family room, her hands in her lap as she looks ahead in relative calm. There are no lights or appliances on, but some dim sunlight does spill through the curtains.

Hannah is a teenage girl, about 15 or 16. She's thin, short, and has dark brown, fairly short hair and brown eyes. Her skin tone is light, and her facial features make it difficult to determine her ethnicity. She's dressed in blue jeans, and a white short-sleeved shirt.

She looks like she's holding in something a little disturbing, but is maintaining a cool front for now.

1 HANNAH (CAP)
They say that, for any difficult task, the waiting is actually the hardest part.

Panel 2
Close-up on Hannah, who swallows nervously. She looks like she wants to cry, but is stubbornly holding on to her composure.

2 HANNAH (CAP)
Of course, I don't know who “they” are, but it sure as hell feels that way right now.

Panel 3
Medium shot. Hannah starts suddenly as a knock on the door sounds. She looks across the room at the door, as if uncertain about whether to answer it or to run away.

3 SFX
 <KNOCK! KNOCK! KNOCK!>

3 HANNAH (CAP)
When the point of no return shows up, and you don't think you can actually go through with it...

Panel 4
Close-up on the door opening, as JASON WILLIAMS lets himself in, a cheerful, aloof expression on his face as he enters.

Jason is Hannah's older brother. He's about 30, with dark brown hair and brown eyes he keeps behind a pair of squarish framed glasses. He looks youthful, and has a thin-medium build. He's dressed casually, in blue jeans, a t-shirt with the Batman logo on it, and wearing a black leather jacket.

Some sunlight spills in behind him as he comes into the house.

4 HANNAH (CAP)
Sometimes it just comes through the door.

5 JASON
 Hellooo? Anyone ho—?

Panel 5
Jason's eyebrows shoot up slightly as he sees Hannah looking at him from across the room. A slight smile forms on his face.

6 JASON
 Oh, there you are, noob!

7 JASON
Well, this is new. Usually I have to go up to your room and pry you out of there with a meme or the promise of a meal. Where's mom?

8 HANNAH
Jeff's.

Panel 6
Jason nods as he meets her about halfway across the room, his arms spread for a hug. Hannah throws her arms around his waist, her head pointed down toward the ground as she leans it on his chest.

9 JASON
Ah. So, I take it it's just—

PAGE TWO

Panel 1
They're still hugging, and Jason's noticed that it's a much tighter hug than usual. He looks a little concerned as he directs his gaze down at her.

1 JASON
 Hey, what's up? Everything alright?

2 HANNAH
  No.

Panel 2
Close-up on Hannah, still tight in her embrace, her eyes watery but no tears falling yet.

3 JASON
I knew you wanted to hang out, but I didn't think it was so urgent. What's wrong?

4 HANNAH
I have to tell you something. Something... big.

Panel 3
Jason pulls back, his eyebrows raised curiously, but semi-sarcastically.

5 JASON
Is it drugs?

6 HANNAH
No.

Panel 4
Medium shot of the two of them, Jason continuing to quiz her. She looks scandalized and slightly annoyed, but also a little amused.

7 JASON
You pregnant?

8 HANNAH
No! Jeez!

9 JASON
Do you owe someone a lot of money? Are you in over your head with a local mafia boss or something?

10 HANNAH
Nooo!!! Jason!

Panel 5
Jason suddenly has a very serious look on his face. He's all business as he asks her a final question.

11 JASON
Is it AIDS? Did you get HIV or something?

Panel 6
Point of view shot from Jason's perspective of Hannah, who has a very serious expression on her face as she looks up at her brother.

12 HANNAH
I need you to please sit down.

PAGE THREE

Panel 1
Jason's serious look has frozen, but his brow is furrowed questioningly as his jaw hangs open.

1 JASON
 Ummm... o-kay...

Panel 2
Medium shot of the two of them. Jason sits in a nearby chair at the dining room table and watches Hannah expectantly, all his attention on her.

2 HANNAH
 Thank you.

3 HANNAH
Now. Can I get you anything? A drink, or—

Panel 3
Jason suddenly stands up, half accusingly, half-panicked. Hannah looks affronted at his action, about to yell and bite his head off.

4 JASON
Okay, now I know something's wrong!

5 JASON
You've never offered to get me anything, ever!

Panel 4
Hannah yells loudly at her brother, prompting him to lower himself away from her defensively in his chair. He could be overreacting for comic effect, but it should be purposely left ambiguous.

6 HANNAH
  SHUT! UP!

7 HANNAH
YOU'RE NOT MAKING THIS ANY EASIER FOR ME!

Panel 5
Perspective shot of Hannah from Jason's point of view, this time with him looking up at the teenager from his chair. Her arms are crossed, and her face has formed a scowl as she speaks to him.

8 HANNAH
Now, what do you want? Water, or Dr. Pepper?

Panel 6
Close-up on Jason, looking stunned, and a little uncertainly up at her.

9 JASON
 …

10 JASON
 Uh, cake, please?

Panel 7
Another close-up on Jason, throwing his hands up and his head down defensively as he corrects himself.

11 JASON
DR. PEPPER, I mean! I meant Dr. Pepper!

PAGE FOUR

Panel 1
Medium close-up of the two of them. Jason is peeking up at her from underneath his arms, and Hannah is squinting a deadly baleful expression at him.

1 HANNAH
 Fine. Coming up.

Panel 2
The same shot as before, only Jason has lowered his arms slightly. Hannah is in the same position as before, with the same expression as in the previous panel.

Panel 3
Same shot again. Jason has lowered his hands completely, and is sitting more or less normally, as Hannah continues to maintain her position and expression in stony silence.

2 JASON
Uhhh... noob? I thought you were gonna—

3 HANNAH
 Wait a moment.

Panel 4
Close-up on Jason, whose eyebrows have shot up yet again. His eyes are wide and his mouth has dropped open again in an expression of complete surprise and shock.

4 JASON
  What the...?!

Panel 5
Another perspective shot of Hannah, who's now looking a little more relieved as he sees what she's been trying to tell him. She's put one hand up, and is making a slow forward-pushing motion with it. Behind her, a clear glass full of Dr. Pepper and some ice is floating from the kitchen behind her towards him.

5 HANNAH
Excuse me. I'll need to guide the rest of it...

Panel 6
Close-up on the Dr. Pepper as it floats between the two of them into Jason's shakily outstretched hand.

6 JASON
 Wow.

PAGE FIVE

Panel 1
Medium close-up of the two of them. Hannah is looking at Jason, who is staring disbelievingly at his glass of Dr. Pepper.

1 JASON
 Did you just...

2 HANNAH
Levitate a glass of Dr. Pepper into this room from the kitchen?

3 HANNAH
 Yes.

Panel 2
Close-up on Jason, looking up at Hannah?

4 JASON And you didn't...

5 HANNAH
Make the drink on request? No. I made both before you got here.

6 HANNAH
I don't have that level of control.

Panel 3
Close-up on Jason, who nods dumbly.

7 JASON
 I, uh... see.

Panel 4
Medium close-up on the two of them as Jason takes a tentative sip of his beverage.

8 HANNAH
 So, yeah...

9 HANNAH
 That's the big news.

10 HANNAH
 What do you think?

Panel 5
Jason puts his glass down, and fixes Hannah with a too-serious look. Hannah looks apprehensively at him.

11 JASON
I think... if you ever leave me hanging about something like HIV again...

12 JASON
You could at least be courteous enough to not make my drink so far in advance. I mean, it's just way too watery.

Panel 6
Close-up on Hannah, who is both smiling widely and shedding tears at her brother's joking.

13 HANNAH (CAP)
And that's how I knew that somehow, this was all gonna be okay.

PAGE SIX

Panel 1
Splash page. Jason has swept Hannah up in a big hug. Both are smiling happily.

1 HANNAH (CAP)
My brother's lame jokes were the glue that held it all together.

2 JASON
Does anybody else know?

3 HANNAH
Nope. You're the first.

4 JASON
And you were actually scared about telling me this?

5 HANNAH
I wasn't sure if you'd freak out or not.

6 JASON
Me?! You've seen my comic book collection!

7 HANNAH
I know! Which would have made it worse, if you couldn't handle it!

8 JASON
Lame.

9 HANNAH
So, you don't think this makes me some kind of weirdo?

10 JASON
This?! No, not this...

11 HANNAH
Shut up.

12 JASON
This is just... it's just one more thing that shows how cool you are. Not that I didn't already know it.

13 HANNAH
… Thanks.

14 HANNAH (CAP)
For now at least, the world feels like a slightly less uncertain place than it did a little while ago.

15 HANNAH (CAP)
The point of no return came and went in a flash.

Onset: The Rescue

PAGE ONE

Panel 1
HANNAH WILLIAMS has seized VARUN SRINIVASI in a telekinetic grip and slammed him hard into the stone wall of the monastery.

Hannah is a teenage girl, about 15 or 16, short, thin, with dark brown hair and eyes, a slightly tan complexion and facial features of indeterminate ethnicity. She's dressed as a fairly typical young American girl, with jeans, t-shirt, and a loose-fitting jacket. She doesn't look anywhere near as powerful as she actually is. Varun is taller, well-built, with clean-cut facial features and skin tone that clearly mark him as Middle Eastern. His hair is slightly on the long side for a guy, but well-kept. He's very pretty, in a way, with smooth, youthful features, rune-like tattoos on his face and hands, and a style of dress that uniquely marks him as a demon hunter.

There is a look of cold, dangerous fury on her face as she advances on Varun, who hits the wall with a hard thud.

1 CAPTION
The hidden Monastery of Medici. Italy.

2 HANNAH
Let. My brother. Go.

3 HANNAH
Right now, goddammit, or I'll—

Panel 2
Close-up on Varun, still being held up against the wall. His teeth are grit and body is tense in struggle, but he's actually smiling down at Hannah.

4 VARUN
 You'll what?

5 VARUN
Tear this place apart? Bring the whole structure crashing down on us?

6 HANNAH (O.P.)
  MAYBE!

Panel 3
Medium shot. Varun is still pinned up against the wall and Hannah is facing him, one arm raised slightly as she maintains her telekinetic hold on him. She's barely holding her anger in as they talk. He's calm, but a little rattled.

7 VARUN
Won't do you any good, sweetie. He'll still die, and I'll simply be succeeded by another hunter, as will all the monks.

8 VARUN
The only difference would be that you'd die too.

9 HANNAH
Maybe I don't care about that.

10 VARUN
And maybe I think you're bluffing.

Panel 4
Close-up on Hannah, who is smiling mirthlessly—and mercilessly—up at Varun.

11 HANNAH
You just don't get it. Do you, pretty-boy?

12 HANNAH
I don't care how cute you are. I don't care if you can fight demons, and vampires, and other things I can't put a name to. Right now, all I care about are two things.

13 HANNAH
That my brother's in there, where your monks are killing him—

Panel 5
Medium close-up on Varun as Hannah looks up at him. Varun looks like he's having a much harder time breathing now, and is struggling in vain against the telekinetic bonds Hannah has him in.

14 HANNAH
—and that you will fix that, now!

15 VARUN
 <GASP!> Wind... pipe...! <GASP!>

Panel 6
Hannah releases her hold on Varun, who falls unceremoniously to the floor, coughing fitfully and gasping for air. Hannah is looking over him balefully, one fist clenched viciously.

16 HANNAH
Now, get to work, before I really get angry!

17 VARUN
 <Coughing and gasping>

PAGE TWO

Panel 1
Varun has lifted his head up to look at her, an expression of anger and defiance on his face.

1 VARUN
Even if I wanted to help, I can't!

2 VARUN
The monks have started a ritual to weaken your brother, both physically and spiritually, so the demon can be reaped from his body. Disrupting it would be extremely unsafe, for everyone involved!

Panel 2
Hannah is looking evenly at Varun as he rises. She's unimpressed by his anger, amply buoyed by her own.

3 HANNAH
 Details?

4 VARUN
The monks themselves would fight me to ensure it's properly carried out.

Panel 3
Medium close-up on Varun. He is solemn and dead serious as he explains the risks to her.

5 VARUN
Assuming I survive, the ritual will have angered the demon that's trying to bond with him. If disrupted, it could change the nature of its hold on him.

6 VARUN
And before you ask, no, I don't know how.

Panel 4
Extreme close-up on Varun's eyes, narrowed resentfully as he looks at Hannah.

7 VARUN
Because no one has ever been foolish enough to interrupt it.

Panel 5
Medium close-up on Hannah, who is smiling a thin, dangerous smile at Varun. Her mind is made up, and she will not be talked out of it.

8 HANNAH
Well, you've been talking about how you want to impress this brotherhood of yours. Here's your opportunity.

9 VARUN
 Hannah...

Panel 6
Hannah has gotten in Varun's face, and is pressing a finger into his chest. Varun actually looks surprised, and cowed by her anger and rage.

10 HANNAH
I never agreed to let you or your people murder my brother!

PAGE THREE

Panel 1
Splash page. Medium close-up on JASON WILLIAMS, lashed to a stone pillar with heavy-duty chains in the middle of a large, arena-like room in the monastery.

He is about 30, has a thin-medium build, with short dark brown hair and irises. Some crazy changes are overtaking his body. His skin has taken on an uneven, purplish-magenta hue, and his muscle tone has hardened considerably. His eyes have taken on a yellow color, and spines are starting to sprout in a line down the sides of his neck and shoulders.

Clipped to each of his forearms is a bracer-like mechanism, each with three chains attached to it. They are pulled taut in different directions, his arms stretched out from the rest of his body. It's not possible to see from this shot, but several monks have each taken a chain and are keeping him stretched tight. He is in agony, though whether it's from the changes he's enduring or the ritual the monks are inflicting upon him is not currently known.

1 HANNAH (CAP)
And I will never let the people I love suffer or die needlessly.

2 HANNAH (CAP)
  Ever.

3 HANNAH (CAP)
That's my brother in there, and I know he's going through something I can't begin to imagine. Some demon thinks it can use him as a host to walk on this world.

4 HANNAH (CAP)
You and your brotherhood seem to think the only solution is killing him.

5 HANNAH (CAP)
 Well, today, that changes.

PAGE FOUR

Panel 1
One of the monks holding one of the arm chains is suddenly lifted off his feet, surprise and fear dominating his features.

1 HANNAH (CAP)
Because using destruction as a solution is cruel.

Panel 2
He's hurled violently into another monk nearby.

2 HANNAH (CAP)
 It's unfair.

Panel 3
Close-up on Jason, who's just noticed the chains on his right arm slacken. He looks around for an opportunity...

3 HANNAH (CAP)
And today at least, I'm not having it.

Panel 4
Varun has charged into the arena, brandishing a blunt polearm that nonetheless looks intimidating, and sweeps several nearby monks off their feet with one wide, strong sweep. Several monks further off look shocked, surprised, and offended by the display. Hannah is nearby, staying clear of Varun's fighting arc, lifting and throwing a couple of other nearby monks.

4 VARUN
Apologies, my brothers, but today's ritual has been postponed!

5 HANNAH
What he said! Let my brother go!

6 MONK 1
 BETRAYAL! TO ARMS!

7 MONK 2
 We are undone!

Panel 5
Jason, taking advantage of the momentary confusion, whips the loose chains on his right arm around in a vicious arc, slamming them hard into the monks holding his left arm. He looks almost gleeful as he does it.

8 JASON
 Hear that, old Pharaoh?!

9 JASON
 “Let my people go!”

Panel 6
Wide shot. Monks begin to surround Varun and Hannah, who continue to hold them off and knock them down while Jason, hands free, gets a grip on the chains binding him to the pillar. Some monks have only just begun to notice that he's getting free, and are pointing at him.

10 HANNAH
He's doing it! They're starting to panic!

PAGE FIVE

Panel 1
Medium close-up on Jason and the pillar. The chains around him won't break, but the pillar is starting to crack and strain as he pulls on them. There's a vicious smile playing about his mouth, even as the exhaustion wears on his body.

1 JASON
Of course, as spirituals go, I prefer “Joshua Fit the Battle of Jericho.”

Panel 2
Close-up on the pillar cracking and breaking from the stress. It starts to tip backwards...

2 JASON
“And the walls come tumblin' down!”

Panel 3
The pillar falls, backwards from Jason, taking out an entire cone of the north side of the arena. Most of the monks have gotten clear, though some can be seen pinned beneath the wreckage.

3 SFX
 CRASH!!!

Panel 4
Close-up on Hannah and Varun, who are stunned by the display.

4 HANNAH
 Whoa.

5 VARUN
 What she said.

Panel 5
Jason makes his way towards Hannah and Varun, casually peeling off his chains and bracers. The monks have fled the scene, or are still doing so, afraid for their lives. Hannah and Varun regard him cautiously.

6 JASON
Now that's what I call a command performance.

7 HANNAH
 You look like the Hulk.

8 JASON
 I sound like the Hulk.

9 JASON
Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Panel 6
Jason takes Hannah in his arms for a hug, which she returns as Varun looks on, momentarily pleased.

10 JASON
Thanks, noob. For coming after me like that. They would have—

11 HANNAH
Shhh. No they wouldn't have. No way in hell I would've let them.

12 JASON
 Still. Thank you.
